The Holidays Are Right Around The Corner!
It is hard to believe that it is September already! I can't wait for fall to come and for the weather to cool down. Winter is my favorite time of year. It is so nice here in Arizona in December!
Here are a couple of holiday dolls I made recently -

I need to get movin' and start on some Christmas presents, too! Pugsley is already writing his letter to Santa, telling him how good he's been all year. The little pug-bug isn't demanding by any means, but I did read one paragraph that said he would greatly appreciate getting a few new toys if the elves had a few extra minutes to make him some :)

Wednesday Ramblings
Here are a few photos of some things I've been playing around with lately. I really like needle felting with cool yarns. I found the softest, most cushy yarn the other day, so I made a few bookmarks to match the dollies I've been working on.
I purchased a light box so that (hopefully) I can take better photos of my stuff. It's way cool! Now I don't have to worry about getting my messy house in the backgrounds of my pictures lol. I'm still learning how to use it though (obviously!).

Some ATCs I worked on...
I used a silk flower for this one. (Can you tell I **love** Stickles?!)

Who says that a guy fairy can't look like Adrien Brody? HAHAHAHA (It's for a swap.)

Felted ATC-

Felted ATC with embroidery and lots of thread snips that I've been saving -

I hope you guys have a great day!

Back To School Time
Wow - this year is flying by so quickly! On my way to work now, I see the kiddies all standing in a bunch with their cute little backpacks waiting for the school bus. I kinda miss Kevin being that small sometimes... I drove him to school in the mornings and he'd run off to play with his friends... but I digress lol.
Here is a back-to-school dollie I made for a swap. I am trying to keep from signing up for so many swaps, but it's just so much fun. :)

Have a great day!

Sunday Ramblings and Photos
Jus a few photos to share this morning... I fiddled around with some different things yesterday. Discovered (for the millionth time) that
Here are a couple of goodies I got yesterday :)
Isn't this amigurumi so cute????

Some fabric and a surprise extra magazine from a fat quarter swap.

A couple of dolls that go out this week to their new homes. This one is for a Mother Nature dotee swap. I was planning on making her white and flowing somehow, with little doves. However, I had 50,000 ongoing projects on my work table and the face kinda fell into the flowers and it just seemed to work. I bought a HUGE bag of loose silk flowers at Walmart for almost free, so I was fiddling around with ideas yesterday.

Here is a hula girl dollie I made.

Have a great Sunday!!

Happy Weekend!!
Whew!! We made it to Saturday - yay! I'm playing around with some new stuff this weekend and getting some swaps ready to send. It has been so stinkin' hot and muggy here... I can't wait for October, when it starts getting nice here. I stopped at Hobby Lobby this morning and they had all kinds of fall stuff and thanksgiving stuff out... I wish the weather was more like fall already!!
I got some super nice swaps in the mail this week. I love swapping the little dolls. Although they are all basically made from the same idea, every one is different. Even the ones I make each seem to have their own individual personalities.
Here is a baby doll I made for a swap -

I got this from Quiltaholic :) I love these fabrics!!

This is another lovely package I got this week. It was for a chocolate covered strawberry swap. We were supposed to send 2 fat quarters that were pink and brown and 1 strawberry surprise. I love this little memo board!

I hope you guys have a wonderful day!

Tere's Room of Chaos
This morning, I woke up early and doodled around in my sewing room before I had to go to work. It finally hit me that my room is a MESS! When did the tornado invade my sewing room and why didn't I hear it?! Oh well, it is still my happy place!
Please tell me I'm not the only one with a room that looks like a craft store after a bar room brawl :)
Can you see the cute pug sitting on my laptop? I'm going to write about him next.

I moved Baby Hughie into the kitchen because it's cooler there and he works better under the AC vent... the problem is that I promptly filled up the space where he used to be in the sewing room, so I think he will have to stay here permanently.

Oh well, I did finish up this cutie this morning :) She goes off to her new home soon!

New Dollies!
The weekends go by way too fast!!!! I managed to sneak some sewing/crafting time in, however. I thought I'd share a few photos will y'all (as they say in the south).
These are some dotees I received from my swap-bot swaps. Aren't they cute?!

This last one was for a "celestial" doll swap :)
Here are a couple that I made over the weekend. They are on their way to their new homes-

I'm so addicted to this swapping thing! I really need to start on the holiday stuff-do you realize that Christmas is only 143 days away?? I can't wait - Arizona is beautiful in December... I think we will have to have breakfast out on the patio again this year :)

I Found My Way Out!
Many of you took it quite seriously that I might never find my way out of my sewing room again HAHAHA (but would that be so bad?). Thanks for the offers to send the rescue teams after me! I left a trail of bread crumbs so that I wouldn't get lost. Unfortunately, today is Monday, so it's back to work!
I played around with a few things, but most of what I did was make more of those little dolls :) Most of them are waiting to go to their new homes for swaps.

I'm still playing around with the felting thingy. That is just way too cool!! I'm seriously addicted.

New Dotees
Just some pics of Dotee dolls I made this weekend. Dot made the original Dotee dolls - check out her tutorial here. I like to make mine with some hair, though :) There are so many Dotee doll swaps on Swap Bot, and I've joined most of them LOL. I can't wait to see what I get back!

This one went to live with my sister -

This one is for a swap. She will be off to her new home today.

This little girl is going to her new home today. I made her for a "celestial" dotee swap :)

Dotee dolls!
These little dolls are popping up everywhere lately, it seems. The dolls are called "Dotee Dolls", named after the lady who first created them. Her blog and the tutorial are here.
I had never tried to sew beads before, but I kinda just winged it and came up with these little girls. My son said they look like shrunken heads. I told him that he'd better watch his mouth or the next one would look just like HIM. HA!

My very first one.

These are so addicting! Now I have an excuse to go back to Michael's - I need more beads! I don't really need an excuse, I'm there all the time anyways LOL.

My best little buddy in the whole world! I was lucky to find Pugsley after his
owner passed away. He spent a week with the wonderful folks at
My other little buddy - Brewski came from Petsmart. I think he's pretty happy
with us :)
Chester is really Kevin's kitty. He came from the Humane Society 13 years go
to live with us. He's a pretty good kitty :)
